Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account details: your email address, and the display name, handle, avatar and bio you choose to add.
• Your books: lists, the books on them, formats you want, reading status (want, reading, read, did not finish), dates you start or finish, private star ratings and notes, and any file you import (Goodreads export, Libby history, CSV).
• Alerts and preferences: price alerts, email frequency, quiet hours, reading goal, favorite genres, followed authors and series, and push notification settings.
• What you already have access to (optional): library cards you add (library name and Libby library key, never your card number or PIN) and subscriptions you tell us you have (for example Kindle Unlimited or Spotify Premium). We use these only to show you free or included options first.
• Location for delivered prices (optional): your ZIP code, to estimate shipping and sales tax. We don't collect precise location.
• Saved carts: "cheapest way to buy" plans you save.
• Reports and messages: wrong-price reports, contact form messages, and questions you ask our book assistant (Mark).
• Basic technical data: sign-in session, standard server logs (time, page, browser type), and, if you install the site on your phone, a push notification token.

What we don't collect

Store passwords or logins (Amazon, Goodreads, Libby or any other), library card numbers or PINs, payment card or bank details. This site doesn't take payments.

How we use it

To show prices and library options, run your lists and alerts, send the emails and notifications you ask for, build recommendations, answer your questions, keep the service secure and fix problems. We don't sell your personal information and don't use it for advertising. We don't show anyone who tracks a book or how many people do.

Public profile (off by default)

If you turn on a public profile, others can see your display name, handle, avatar, bio, the lists you mark public, what you're currently reading, your yearly read count and favorite genres. Your star ratings are shown only if you turn that on. Your email, notes, alerts, ZIP code, library cards and subscriptions are never public. You can turn the profile off at any time.

Recommendations and AI

We use an AI model to suggest books, tag moods, write short recaps and answer questions. To do this we send the AI provider the relevant book data and, for personal picks, your reading history and ratings, without your email or name. Our provider processes this to return results to us and, under its terms, does not use it to train its models. Questions you ask the assistant are stored without your name to improve the service and find topics people want covered. AI suggestions can be wrong; prices always come from our price data, not the AI.

Calendar feed

If you subscribe to your release calendar, it uses a private link. Anyone with the link can see the releases in it, so don't share it. You can reset the link in Settings.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count page views and see which pages people visit. It sets cookies and records anonymous usage data, such as pages viewed, device type and approximate location. We don't send it your lists, ratings, notes, library cards, subscriptions or account details. You can block it with your browser or Google's opt-out add-on.

Affiliate links

Some "Buy" links are affiliate links. If you click one and buy, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes the order of prices. The store sets its own cookies and handles your purchase under its own privacy policy.

Service providers

• Lovable and Cloudflare: host and run the website.
• Supabase: database, sign-in and background jobs.
• Resend: sends sign-in links, alerts and digests.
• Ghost (Ghost Foundation): our blog and the weekly deals newsletter. If you subscribe there, Ghost stores your email address.
• Anthropic: recommendations and the book assistant.
• Google: Analytics; Google Workspace for our info@ mailbox.
• GoDaddy: domain name.

These providers process data only to provide their services to us.

We also look up book identifiers (ISBNs, titles) with book and price data sources (Open Library, Google Books, eBay, Apple, Hardcover, Rakuten Advertising, and Google Shopping data providers). We don't send them your personal information.

Email and notifications

Sign-in links and account emails are required. Alerts, digests, release news and product news are optional; turn them off in Settings. Every alert and digest email has an unsubscribe link. Push notifications are off unless you allow them and can be turned off in Settings or your browser.

How long we keep data

Until you delete it. Deleting your account removes your lists, reading history, ratings, notes, settings and profile right away. Wrong-price reports and anonymized assistant questions may be kept up to 24 months. Contact messages up to 12 months. Backups may keep deleted data up to 30 days before they're overwritten.

Your choices

Change or delete your data in the app. Export your books and reading history (Goodreads-compatible CSV) from My Books. Ask for a copy or deletion by writing to info@trackbookprice.com.

California residents: you can ask what personal information we hold, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. We don't sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we won't treat you differently for using these rights. We'll verify your identity and respond within 45 days.

Children

This service isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. Family accounts, if we add them, will be managed by a parent.

Changes

We'll update the effective date above. For material changes, we'll tell you by email or with a notice on this page.
